Well, I absolutely love the gals at Wedding Chicks and their super fabulous blog! Yesterday they featured a little Valentine's Day inspiration shoot right in my very own front yard! How dreamy was that! My youngest Helen was-in-HEAVEN! The shoot went off with out a hitch because the ever so talented Lindye Galloway was running the show! We had yummy cake from Simply Sweet Cakery, with a new vintage rental company This and That Vintage Rentals (Shanda is a sweetheart). And, of course gorgeous pictures from Candice of Mark Brooks Photography.

The ombre heart still lives, it has 27 different flowers and will be at BBride Studio in Costa Mesa on Friday, February 10th for the Jenny Yoo trunk show!

One of my sweet friends and bride Michelle was married last month. I'm a huge fan of Purples and Greens together......Her bouquet was made of 'Eskimo' and 'Akito' roses, Hydrangea, sweet peas, mini calla lilies (lavender, eggplant & white), green Cymbidium orchids and green Heliborus. For the bridesmaids we used 'Ocean Song' roses, purple stock, mini green Hydrangea, mini calla lilies (lavender and eggplant) and green Cymbdium orchids. Courtney and Keith | Museum of Contemporary Art La Jolla | TOS Events

Courtney was such a sweetheart, our phone conversations would be so warm, I felt like I was talking to a little sister:)

Besides the super cool bride and groom, the Museum of Contemporary Art La Jolla was sweetness by the sea. The nautical vessel installation by Nancy Rubins suspended over the ceremony site is one of the most unique sculptures I have yet to encounter, my kids thought it was super cool! A Collection Applied Design: Kim MacConnel Retrospective; his incredible collection of murals in acrylic on wood was a stunning background for their reception.

I also love working with Laura of TOS Events. Her and her crew are always a blast to work with!

Sarah came to me with so much enthusiasum for their country vintage inspired wedding, not to mention boxes and boxes of fun stuff to incorporate into their theme! Lehka and Predeep were an amazing couple and a joy to work with. Their wedding took place at the Newport Beach Marriott in Fashion Island on July 4th, 2010. The colors for their wedding were amazing....fuchsia, orange and royal blue. 'Ravel' and 'Tropical Amazon' roses, 'Hot Lydia' Spray Roses, orange lilies, 'Mango' Calla Lilies, Gloriosa Lilies (one of my fav's), Marigolds, orange Alstroemeria and dark blue Delphinium were used provided to provide over the top color for this glorious celebration. I'll be honest, the weekend of 10.10.10 was CRAZY!

Growing Pains.

It took about a week to physically recuperate and 10 days to catch-up on paperwork and emails. I was concentrating on my brides and was there solely for them. I worked with an amazing group of people...brides, coordinators, venues, assistants, designers, security;), the valet guys, etc.

When I got back at the end of the event I was kinda hoping there would have been at least one person using the centerpiece as a cocktail....Bacardi O perhaps;)

This garden inspired wedding had tons and tons of white and mini green hydrangea, 'Polar Star' roses, pale yellow stock, purple lisianthus, dusty miller, green hanging amerathus, variegated ivy....the bridal bouquet consisted of 'Alabaster' garden roses, 'Vendela' roses, yellow spray roses, 'Crystal Blush' and 'Schwarzwalder' calla lilies, dusty miller and New Zealand Pittosporum.

Sarah called me pretty late in the game; I actually remember passing through Berkeley on my way home from visiting family in Mill Valley, just about a month before her wedding. Sarah was so sweet and we instantly connected. We met a few days later at her venue and it was like we were old college friends:) I loved the look that she was going for and I was so excited that she chose me to be her florist!

The venue was filled with Whites, Turquoise, Crystals and Peacock Feathers. We used 250 stems of white hydrangea, 36 stems of giant white cymbidium orchids, over 600 Polo and Polar Star Roses and tons of Dedrobiums.

Utterly Engaged | Design Challenge | Sneak Peak

Just last week I participated in the Utterly Engaged Design Challenge. Even though we didn't win they have decided to publish all the entries in their next publication. All the pictures for the E-Magazine were taken by the one and only Jasmine Star. Unfortunately, we're not suppose to publish any photos of our table........I'm sorry, but I just can't wait!

The amazingly talented Adrienne Gunde, of Adrienne Gunde Photography and I participated together as a team . We had soooooo much fun planning out our 'A Year in Color, Modern Vintage' table. We can't wait for the pictures to be published; our table was literally overflowing with so many great details.
So just teeny tiny taste....

Lara and Steve | The Center Club | Costa Mesa

Dearest Helen (my 3 year old daughter),

I think I've found the location of your wedding.;) I know it may be a bit premature....but, the Center Club in Costa Mesa screams classic, sophistication, elegance, smoking jackets and martinis straight up.

Well, in my book, it's definitely made it into my top 5 fav's. I can't believe in 25 years I get to plan my very own daughters wedding:) Less than that for my 5 year old son:)

Enough about me...

First of all ,I loved working with Lara and Steve. They're both so sweet and Lara was my kinda girl....fun and feisty! Their style was classic and romantic. The colors were Ivories, Eggplant and Lavenders with accents of crystal and lace.

The bridal bouquet was full, lush and compact in all Ivories and Creamy Whites. The flowers consisted of Vendella Roses, Parrot Tulips, Anemone with black center, Sweet Peas and Calla Lilies. The Bouquet was wrapped in lots of Ivory lace and finished with a Vintage inspired, rhinestone feather broach.

Photos...My Camera, Ally Michele shootin it! She's also, one of my assistants (when she's not shooting her own weddings!).

I loved working with Christina! She and I work so smoothly together, like most of my brides;) I was so honored to work with her, I recently found out that she saw 11 florists! That's right, 11, .....and she choose ME! That means the world to me:)

Her bouquets was one of my favorite, I'm usually more traditional for bridal bouquets, but the color combo we used for her bouquet was fan-ta-stic!

She choose a different flower for each of her bridesmaids bouquet (each one carried their favorite flower). We added the chartreuse green cymbidium orchid and green coffee berry as accents.

The ceremony site was simple, yet very elegant. Draping of white chiffon with a center spray that was re-purposed on the sweetheart table.

The tops of Centerpieces were used on iron stands down the aisle....what a way to get your moneys worth:)

Centerpieces were big, beautiful and wild. Christina wanted a semi pear shaped arrangements that were big, full and fun. Arrangements were place on a cylinder of submerged cymbidium orchids. To get that open and airy feel we used lots and lots of greens as a base, with florals like roses, hydrangea, lilies, stock, spray roses, cymbidium orchids and bells of ireland.

Well most of my friends, family and now brides know that I LOVE the color ORANGE! It's everywhere around my house and studio! From the forks and spoons in my kitchen, the end tables in my outdoor room, the Buddha in my fireplace and that thingy hanging from my roof. Don't worry, I love every other color too:)

I was asked to recreate my own wedding color scheme 8 years later and it was just as fun, if not better. Ihank you Amber and Neil and congratulations!

Yes, that's right The Grove in Anaheim. You to can have your very own event at this amazing establishment! At first you may be overwelled by its sheer size, but it worked perfectly for this 150 guest wedding. Each level inside the theater worked as its own area. The stage is where the ceremony took place. The lower level was left empty during the ceremony but was later made the dance floor. The second tier was the ceremony seating and then made into a cocktail area. The third and forth tier was set for the reception and the upper tier had their candy bar. The front consession area was perfect for the cocktail hour. Enjoy!

It was a very warm day. The Sycamore trees showed their signs of summer, which gave them a look of fall. Gloria and Ed were a pleasure to work with, their taste and style meshed well with mine. Ed love an old vintage chair I have in my outdoor room. I sent to him to one of my friends shop Out of Vogue in downtown Fullerton, where in turn he purchased a chair for himself:)

EVERYTHING screamed.....SUMMER!

The Biedermeier bouquet originated in Switzerland in the 1800’s. This is a very structured bouquet created by carefully arranging different flowers in concentric circles-each circle with its own flower type (and/or color in this case). The Biedermeier has made a large comeback in recent years due to the dramatic and colorful look of the bouquet. It is just as romantic as it is contemporary.

This was a lovely wedding at a pristine winery, South Coast in Temecula, California. I can't believe that there a beautiful rolling hills of vineyards just 65 miles from Orange County. And, the villas are to die for, I'm definitely coming back here for a bit of R and R. We also re-purposed all the centerpieces for the ceremony and it turned out fantastic!

Chris and Kevin were so amazing to work with. I worked with Chris via email, phone and text messaging....and everything turned out perfect! Especially due to the fact that the lovely couple were planning their special Valentine's Day wedding from Michigan!

One month after their wedding, Kevin had me recreate Chris' bridal bouquet and ship it to Michigan for their one month anniversary surprise. What a romantic!
